1. employment guarantee

DecodeMTL is committed to providing high-quality Services through its courses which will allow Customers to successfully find employment in the web development industry or related fields (hereafter, the “Industry”). As such, DecodeMTL is offering this Employment Guarantee to its Customers. Pursuant to this Employment Guarantee, if a Customer who has met the Eligibility Conditions does not receive a Qualified Job Offer in the Industry within 180 days after successfully completing the course in which they have enrolled (as identified in Schedule A) (the “Course”), DecodeMTL will fully reimburse the Price paid by such Customer for such course (the “Reimbursement”).

The Customer must keep track of all job search required activities as set forth in Section 2 and must keep a copy of all documentation and any other information that would allow DecodeMTL to verify the Customer’s compliance with the Eligibility Conditions. DecodeMTL will provide Customer with a spreadsheet which the Customer will update on a daily basis detailing the job search related activities completed that day. It is recommended that the Customer keep a separate log of all job searching activities, back up such data and make copies of relevant documentation.

For the purposes of this Employment Guarantee, the term “Qualified Job Offer” means: an offer of a full-time paid position (of an average of 35 hours or more per week) or multiple offers of part-time positions (which together constitute the equivalent of 35 hours or more per week), in Canada, as an employee, intern or independent contractor in the Industry, from an employer or client operating or having operational services in the Industry.

2. eligibility conditions

    The following conditions (the “Eligibility Conditions”) must be met in order for a Customer to be eligible for this Employment Guarantee:

  1. The Customer must have successfully completed the Course enrolled in with DecodeMTL.
  2. The Customer must be 18 years or older and be legally authorized to work in Canada for at least 2 consecutive years beginning at the date of successful completion of the Course.
  3. The Customer must be willing to work either (i) in person in Vancouver, Montreal or Toronto, within a reasonable commuting distance from the Customer’s address of residence, or (ii) remotely anywhere in Canada.
  4. The Customer must be proficient in both spoken and written English. If the Customer’s address of residence is in Québec, the Customer must also be proficient in spoken and written French.
  5. Within 3 days of successful completion of the Course, the Customer must submit to DecodeMTL a copy of the Customer’s up to date LinkedIn profile (the “Profile”). DecodeMTL will either (i) approve the Customer’s Profile, or (ii) suggest modifications to the Customer’s Profile. In the event DecodeMTL suggests modifications to the Profile, within 3 days Customer will submit to DecodeMTL a revised Profile integrating such modifications into the Profile for DecodeMTL’s review.
  6. Within 3 days of successful completion of the Course, the Customer must submit to DecodeMTL a copy of the Customer’s up to date curriculum vitae (the “CV”). DecodeMTL will either (i) approve the Customer’s CV, or (ii) suggest modifications to the Customer’s CV. In the event DecodeMTL suggests modifications to the CV, within 3 days Customer will submit to DecodeMTL a revised CV integrating such modifications into the CV for DecodeMTL’s review.
  7. Immediately following successful completion of the Course, the Customer must actively seek out a Qualified Job Offer in the Industry. In actively seeking out a Qualified Job offer, the Customer must submit at least 10 applications seeking legitimate employment per week to prospective employers or clients operating in the Industry. Upon request by DecodeMTL, the Customer must be able to provide evidence of all such job applications.
  8. The Customer must be available, if invited, to interview for a potential Qualified Job Offer for a minimum of 3 interviews per week. Upon request by DecodeMTL, the Customer must be able to provide evidence of attending all scheduled interviews.
  9. The Customer must email a representative at DecodeMTL within 1 business day of receipt of a Qualified Job Offer, including the title of the position associated with the Qualified Job Offer, the name and address of the entity extending the Qualified Job Offer, and the compensation rate being offered with the Qualified Job Offer.
  10. the Customer must spend at least 35 hours per week completing job search-related activities, including (i) approximately 17.5 hours per week applying for jobs, attending networking events, meeting with prospective employers and interviewing, and (ii) approximately 17.5 hours per week coding and  enhancing their coding abilities and skills.

3. Documentation

The Customer must keep track of all job search required activities and must keep a copy of all documentation and any other information that would allow DecodeMTL to verify the Customer’s compliance with the Eligibility Conditions. It is recommended that the Customer keep a log of all job searching activities, back up such data and make copies of relevant documentation. DecodeMTL may, at any time during the 6-month period following successful completion of the Course, require that the Customer provide documentation to DecodeMTL that will allow DecodeMTL to verify the Customer’s compliance with any or all of the Eligibility Conditions. Failure to maintain and/or provide a copy of such documentation to DecodeMTL upon request may result, in DecodeMTL’s sole discretion, in the Customer no longer being eligible for the Employment Guarantee.
